The Children's University is a national organisation offering children aged 7-14 an exciting and innovative programme of high quality learning opportunities outside school hours, with a focus on rewarding participation, raising aspirations and encouraging engagement with learning. We were the winners of the 2011 The Directory of Social Change  Awards,  Everyday Impact Award for New Enterprises.

 

 

  




What we are offering in 2011
  • What do we mean by Children's University Learning?


    We aim to offer high quality learning in many forms. While this may be in traditional’ academic subjects, Croydon Children's University also seeks to  complement the work of our schools by offering diverse opportunities and supporting innovative approaches to learning, offering art, astronomy or drama, music or maths, science or sport, philosophy, poetry or  photography, or any combination of these and other subjects using the expertise available to us locally.

More than 30 students aged 7 – 14 , were the first to graduate from the Croydon Children’s University on 28th November 2011 when they joined 1400 students in celebrating their graduation at  the London Metropolitan University at a special ceremony at The Barbican Centre. 

The students were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress for this very special occasion. The Mayor said he was very proud that we were the first London borough to have young people achieve such an honour.
